The associations have begun their activities to "give voice" to the unfulfilled needs of rare disease patients and their families.

The National Centre for Rare Diseases has recognized the importance of the "model based on the involvement of patient associations" and is developing projects/activities dedicated to listening to the unfulfilled needs in Rare Diseases:

"Narrative Medicine" and "Information Service"
