E-learning

WP4 deals with the implementation of e-learning Teaching Modules aimed at educating professionals to effectively deliver a tele-rehabilitation service to the citizens. Basically, the main goals will be the education of the involved clinical personnel to the effective use of the technology and the service, and their training to interact with patients and patients' families in order to make them accept and correctly use the new service. Two Teaching Modules will be delivered, one more clinically-oriented - with special focus on Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Stroke and Multiple Sclerosis (MS) -, the other more technically-oriented. Both modules will be opened at the beginning of 2006, and will remain on-line for 8 months.
The e-learning modules will exploit the potentialities of Problem Based Learning (PBL), thus allowing the following activities:

- On-line planned meetings, with the participation of both teachers and students (professionals to be educated). During the meetings, personal overall experiences in the field and specific experiences with preliminary teaching modules purposely implemented for the HELLODOC apparatus will be shared and applied to specific telerehabilitation issues.

- Individual monitored/guided student research of learning resources and materials.

- Individual study on the basis of her/his background.

- Problem solving meetings where teachers and students tentatively achieve solutions on the proposed topics.
