Master in Health Services Management

The National Health Institute (Istituto Superiore di Sanità - ISS) and the Centre for Research on Health Economics and Health Care Management (Centro di Ricerca in Economia e Management in Sanità - CREMS) of Carlo Cattaneo University - LIUC propose, for the Academic Year 2008-2009, a University First Level Master Degree in Health Services Management - MHSM.

The Master capitalizes the Italian National Health Institute's training experience on Public Health Management from the 1987's first edition.
The Master is based on a series of training modules divided into residential and distance learning courses.
The learning method is based on the integration of PBL (Problem Based Learning), e-learning, role-playing and seminars.

Job opportunities
Upon completion of the Masters, the graduates will be suitably experienced to be able to work professionally in the fields of: health, social health and expanded health systems. In particular, the Masters will provide them with the knowledge and training so that they can contribute to different organisations that finance, plan and control policies and health strategies. Successful candidates will be well equipped for jobs in national and international organisations of cooperation in the health sector.

Certification
University First Level Master Degree.

Objectives

• Understand and analyse the basis of the management of health services and health politics;
• Plan, manage and evaluate social health services and programmes in line with the strategies and the national health plans, considering the resources and the limitations within this context;
• Draw up and realize operative research activities;
• Manage human and financial resources in health sector.

16 March 2009 - 11 March 2010.

Admission requirements
Bachelor or equipollent title.

Enrollment
The number of participants should not be less than 30 or more than 40 for the academic year 2008-2009.
