Seminar Stereotipi e pregiudizi di genere, 22 May 2023

On May 22nd the third seminar belonging to a series of meetings on gender language promoted by the Comitato Unico di Garanzia (CUG) of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS) titled Stereotipi e pregiudizi di genere, was held by the sociologist and essayist prof.ssa Maria Graziella Priulla and the philosopher and educator Lorenzo Gasparrini.

The seminar is one of the many Positive Actions included in the Three-Year Plan 2023-2025 aimed at promoting staff awareness initiatives for a culture of respect and equal opportunities. The CUG promotes a series of meetings with expert linguists to reflect on gender language, recognizing the importance of greater linguistic awareness and a non-discriminatory use of language to encourage cultural change and equitable gender representation. 

The initiative is an opportunity to raise staff awareness of the use of non-sexist, inclusive and gender-respectful language and counter female and male gender stereotypes deeply ingrained in every area of social and work life.
