Back The Environment, Climate and Promoting Children’s Health

The CCM 2017 Project aims to develop and promote action and prevention strategies for children’s health focusing on the environment. It is also known as "NèB – Natura è Benessere” (Nature is Wellbeing) and is represented by a drawing made by an imaginative 9-year-old girl, where the character’s tight network of nerve connections is made to resemble a plant’s sap vessels.

Target: primary and lower secondary school students and teachers
Products: health promotion campaign, events, paper, digital and multimedia material, gadgets, social networks

Little ‘Nature and Culture’ Guides
This outdoor educational project aims to bring children back to nature to achieve a healthy psychomotor development and an active lifestyle. In the Pantanello Park, students take part in educational workshops to explore, discover, protect, and learn about local wildlife. At the same time, they benefit from the positive effects nature has on their biological systems (immune, respiratory, cardiovascular, etc.), while improving their emotional well-being.
This initiative was launched in the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 school years and about 300 users have participated so far. It is still active and can be replicated elsewhere.
ISS researchers are available to present it in schools.

NèB – Nature is Wellbeing. 50 things to do before you turn 12
This A3 70x100 cm poster encourages children to do 50 activities in nature that lead to a healthy and correct psychomotor development. Inspired by a children’s program of the UK National Trust, this poster has been translated and adapted by the DNA Network Team - Didattica Nazionale per l'Ambiente - of CURSA (Consorzio Universitario per la Ricerca Socioeconomica e per l'Ambiente), a CCM2017 project partner. It was printed in October 2018 and has been distributed to about 300 users; it is still available. ISS researchers are available to present it in schools.

Information Brochures
Two 4- and 9-page information brochures describe the goals of the CCM 2017 project and potential practical prevention actions for children’s health.
The brochures were published in July 2018 and have been distributed to about 300 users; they are still available. ISS researchers are available to present them in schools.

NèB Sticker
To make the public familiar with the "NèB" mascot, a round 7cm-diameter sticker was developed and distributed at popular project-related events (workshops, conferences, training sessions, etc.).
The sticker was released in November 2018 and has been distributed to about 500 users; it is still available. ISS researchers are available to present it in schools.

Facebook page @NèB - Nature is Wellbeing
Its purpose is to promote and disseminate initiatives related to the ‘Nature is Wellbeing’ project through at least two weekly posts. Since 6 March 2019, it has garnered 285 followers and likes.
The FB page was launched in July 2018 and has been followed and liked by about 285 users; it is still active. ISS researchers are available to present it in schools.

Promotional 4 GB "NèB" pen drive gadget
