Back January 2021 - World NTD day (NTDs)

The World Health Organization (WHO) formally launches its new road map for Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs)
The people who are most affected by these diseases (more than 1 billion people) are primarily the poorest populations, living in tropical and subtropical climates or in remote, rural areas, urban slums or conflict zones. Neglected tropical diseases persist under conditions of poverty and are concentrated almost exclusively in impoverished populations mostly in the developing countries.

More than 270 global partners around the world are coming together to celebrate hard-earned progress and take action to tackle NTDs.  They will conduct many activities in celebration of World NTD Day (January 30, 2021), showcasing the truly global fight to eliminate these diseases.
Also, the Italian National Institute of Health (ISS) is at the forefront in the fight against Neglected tropical diseases.
