Back October 2021 - World Mental Health Day

10 October, the World Health Organization (WHO) celebrates World Mental Health Day. This year's theme is: Mental health care for all: let's make it a reality.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on people's mental health, particularly affecting some groups, including health workers and other frontline workers, students, people living alone and those with pre-existing mental health conditions. Services for mental, neurological and substance use disorders have been significantly disrupted.
Yet there is cause for optimism. At the World Health Assembly in May 2021, governments from around the world recognized the need to scale up quality mental health services at all levels and endorsed the WHO Global Mental Health Action Plan 2013-2030.
It is time to capitalize on this renewed energy among government leaders to deliver quality mental health care for all. World Mental Health Day offers government leaders, civil society organizations and many others the opportunity to talk about the steps they are already taking and intend to take in support of this goal.
