Lifestyles

Dietary habits and physical activity are main determinants of person's lifestyle and affect people’s health.

Eating habits are acquired starting from childhood and are influenced by both hormonal and genetic factors that diversify the response to nutrients, and gender-related factors determined by the socio-cultural and economic context that assigns different roles and stereotypes to men and women.

Basic and translational research studies are currently underway for the definition of personalized dietary interventions, as well as training and dissemination activities on food and nutrition education issues.
