Clinical governance, SNLG and HTA

Evaluation of drugs, devices, clinical procedures and care pathways

This line of activity involves the application of typical HTA methodologies applied to individual technologies. The assessment takes into account a series of domains within which the "value" of a new technology resides, namely: effectiveness, safety, economic, organizational, ethical, legal and social aspects. The reference settings range from the hospital, to primary care, to prevention programs, etc.

The methodologies used are consistent with the international guidelines and standards for the conduct of these studies, in particular the EUNEHTA core model. This activity is closely connected with that of horizon scanning, aimed at identifying health technologies which, due to their impact on health and any challenges inherent in economic sustainability, should have priority in the assessment process.
