Indietro Sostanze con attività endocrina nei mangimi


Le sostanze con attività endocrina presenti nei mangimi possono costituire un rischio diretto per la salute degli animali, un fattore importante di esposizione dei consumatori, particolarmente per fasce vulnerabili come l’infanzia, nonché di esposizione ambientale attraverso i reflui zootecnici. Si tratta, pertanto, di un problema di rilievo nel nuovo approccio 'One Health' che integra qualità ambientale, salute animale, sicurezza dei prodotti alimentari e salute umana.


Nell’ambito dell’European Food Safety Authority il problema è considerato da due panel:

  • Panel on contaminants in the food chain (CONTAM) per le sostanze indesiderate, in gran parte di origine ambientale, quali contaminanti persistenti e micotossine.
  • Panel on additives and products or substances used in animal feed (FEEDAP) per le sostanze aggiunte intenzionalmente nei mangimi per i loro effetti zootecnici o nutrizionali, ma di cui vanno valutati i rischi in rapporto ai benefici, quali ad esempio taluni elementi in traccia.
