From waiting lists to transplantation: how professionalism is differently perceived by patients in the process of treatment?
The level of professionalism perceived by patients plays an important role in every process of treatment. As a consequence of good perception, patients will positively face what awaits them; this is particularly reflected by those affected by end-stage organ failure, who experience two distinct subsequent phases: the wait for the transplant and the post transplant. In both moments, a good perception of professionalism can reassure the individual by becoming the cure itself. This study reports their testimonies, highlighting very different feelings between those waiting for a transplant and those who have already received it. A high perception of professionalism prevails in transplanted recipients; among patients on the waiting list, perceived professionalism collapses, leaving room for fear, anxiety and discouragement.

2nd Online National Conference. In-fertility: a multidisciplinary approach
Infertility could have a meaningful negative impact on individuals and couples' psychophysical health; Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) could represent a very demanding process both physically and emotionally. For this reason, the Italian National Institute of Health, through the activities of the Italian Assisted Reproductive Technology Register, in collaboration with the Department of Dynamic, Clinical and Health Psychology of the Sapienza University, organized a Conference aiming to offer an opportunity of dialogue and reflection on infertility issues and ART treatments, with particular reference to the current period of health emergency due to Covid-19. The conference also aimed to promote interdisciplinary dialogue among the various professionals working in the field, as an opportunity to think together about new models of intervention and care.

Results of an EFSA Project on how to make predictions about human variability in the risk assessment of toxic substances by involving in vitro methods and silico models
The human population is characterized by a high degree of variability between individuals in response to xenobiotics (drugs or toxic substances), due to different factors, related to both the destination of the substance in the organism (kinetics), and the interactions with possible targets (dynamics). EFSA funded a project coordinated by the Italian National Institute of Health with the aim to develop methodologies, experimental strategies and models that integrate kinetics and dynamics data to predict human variability. The 4 years project collected information on transporters and metabolic enzymes, and on different mechanisms of action; furthermore, the project created databases, produced experimental data using NAMs (New Approach Methodologies) on pesticides, natural toxins, food additives, polyphenols, pharmaceuticals; moreover, it developed physiological models in which the data of kinetics and dynamics (PBK- (D)) were integrated. The obtained results represent a further step in EFSA's strategies to improve risk assessment, decreasing uncertainty and increasing transparency
