The Regulation for the organization and operation of the Institute (published in the Official Gazette of the Italian Republic in 2016, no. 88) establishes its governing bodies, the roles of the President and Director-General and the two main operational areas: the Technical scientific area (including Departments, Centers and Technical scientific services) and the Administrative area.
