Indications relating to the choice and management of thermoscanners for body temperature control
The term thermoscanner refers to systems that estimate body temperature from a distance. Since the feverish state is the most frequent symptom of SARS-CoV-2 infection, it is foreseeable that in the coming months thermoscanners will spread to many environments where it will be necessary to manage the safety of people and work environments. This article provides general information on the choice and management of thermal scanners for detecting body temperature in access gates.

EU-JAMRAI: a new European action to fight antimicrobial resistance and healthcare-related infections
In  2017, the EU-JAMRAI was launched to foster collaboration among the European Member States in order to develop and implement One Health policies to fight antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and healthcare-related infections (HCAI). The EU-JAMRAI involves 44 partners and more than 40 stakeholders. The Italian National Institute of Health (ISS) and the University of Foggia are the Italian partners. During these years, the EU-JAMRAI has been promoting harmonized policies and actions against AMR and HCAI, sharing of experiences, and production of guidelines. All the EU-JAMRAI activities and outcomes are subjected to quality assessment.

Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections in the female population: results of two surveys
In the period December 2017-September 2018, two surveys involving women who accessed the Telefono Verde AIDS e IST (Italian National AIDS and STI HelpLine) - 800 861061 and the “Uniti contro l’AIDS” website were carried out. Both these services are provided by the Psycho-socio-behavioral Research, Communication, Training Operational Unit of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Italian National Institute of Health. The aim of the surveys was to analyze the socio-psychological and behavioral characteristics of women who access both services. The results show that the women participating in the two surveys do not regularly use condoms, displaying a low perception of the risks associated with unprotected sex. In order to safeguard women's health in all stages of their life, it is therefore fundamental to launch messages specifically targeting female population, aimed at strengthening the prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI).
