The Italian National Registry of Assisted Reproductive Technology of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità is configured as an operational centre for the fulfilment of Law 40/2004, endowed with scientific and operational autonomy. This report presents the results of the data collection relating to the activity carried out by all IART Italian active centres in 2018. The number of IntraUterine Insemination (IUI) performed, with or without sperm donation, was 17,774 out of 11,426 of patient couples, from which 1,952 pregnancies resulted. Of these, 1,723 were monitored (loss of information equal to 11.7% of total pregnancies), with 1,369 births and 1,493 live born children. The number of in vitro fertilization, cytoplasmatic sperm injection, frozen embryo replacement, frozen oocyte cycles performed was 79,735 out of 66,083 patient couples, from which 17,042 pregnancies were obtained. Of these, 15,381 were monitored (loss of information equal to 9.7% of total pregnancies), with 11,428 deliveries and 12,646 live born children.
