Indietro EPI-WIN webinar: Managing plague in the field

Plague, a disease that can be transmitted from animals to humans, has been responsible for widespread pandemics throughout history, including the so-called Black Death that caused over 50 million deaths in Europe during the fourteenth century. It is a severe disease with a high mortality rate, and remains a threat. Cases of plague have been reported across the world except Oceania, and endemic countries are Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar and Peru. However, today it can be easily treated with antibiotics and the use of standard preventative measures. This webinar explores how plague is spread and how it can be managed through the One Health approach.
