Health Professional Practice Assessment (HPPA)

This line of activity applies the traditional HTA approach to professional practices. In this case, the interventions under evaluation are not individual technologies or drugs, but the roles and activities carried out by the various health professionals, under the assumption that it is possible in some cases to adopt "task shifting" policies (eg: the nurse or pharmacist who carries out education or monitoring activities in patients with type 2 diabetes).

This allows workloads to be redistributed between different healthcare providers in accordance with specific skills and responsibilities, obtaining benefits both in terms of sustainability and improving the quality of care.
