Explicative Note to the publication of the application form requesting Covid-19 data pursuant to the Ordinance of the Head of the Civil Protection Department, OCDPC 691/2020
The Italian National Institute of Health (ISS) is tasked with the Integrated Surveillance of Covid-19 pursuant to the Ordinance of the Head of the Civil Protection Department, OCDPC 640/20 of 27 February 2020.
This surveillance activity aims to monitor contagions, support the healthcare programming decisions of the Ministry of Health and the policy orientation decisions of the Italian Prime Minister. Within the scope of the aforesaid activities, the National Institute of Health has always made available the data collected for the Integrated Surveillance of Covid-19 project, firstly in compliance with OCDPC 640/20 and secondly with Ordinance No. 691/2020, seamlessly and nonprejudicially.
In this spirit of cooperation and with the aim of offering better and more direct access to information on Covid-19, the Institute has intended to facilitate applicants by making available the following form:
If all the fields in the form are correctly filled out, the system produces a PDF with the application form.
The applications shall have to be sent to the President’s Office of the National Institute of Health at the certified email address daticovid@pec.iss.it and they will be answered in the shortest possible time after having evaluated, in accordance with the above-mentioned Ordinances, the purposes specified therein and the consistency of the data requested with the achievement of the purpose specified (which must be necessary and pertinent and not excessive).
The applicant shall also have to indicate the most convenient way of communicating the data, assuring to be capable of guaranteeing the security measures laid down in applicable legislation.
