Indietro Outbreak Brief 150: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic – Africa CDC

Outbreak Update: As of 28 November 2022, a total of 637,404,847 COVID-19 cases and 6,608,893 deaths (case fatality ratio [CFR]: 1%) have been reported globally by 232 countries and territories to the World Health Organization (WHO). The distribution of cumulative cases (percentage of global cases) from the WHO regions (excluding Africa) are as follows: Eastern Mediterranean Region 23,192,676 (3%), European Region 264,434,340 (41%), Region of the Americas 181,462,467 (29%), South-East Asia Region 60,646,218 (10%) and Western Pacific Region 98,276,041 (15%). In the last seven days, the five countries reporting the highest number of new cases are Japan (656,348), the Republic of Korea (377,987), France (217,706) and Germany (148,414). As of 28 November 2022, over 4.9 billion people (62% of the global population) have been fully vaccinated.
