In this report, we highlight the public impact of the “infodemic” or the overabundance of information – some accurate, some not – that is spreading alongside the COVID-19 pandemic. Around the world, this infodemic confuses people about what actions to take to protect themselves and those around them from disease outbreak. In April, the WHO convened with over 1300 field experts to develop guidance to help individuals, community leaders, governments and private sector understand what 50 key actions they can take to manage the COVID-19 infodemic. From that meeting this framework was established.
