In response to the global cholera resurgence, WHO is launching its 12-months Global Cholera Strategic Preparedness, Readiness and Response Plan (SPRRP). The WHO Global Cholera SPRRP identifies activities across 10 pillars to support over 40 countries in acute crisis, active outbreak or at high risk of cholera events, in all WHO regions. With the release of this plan, WHO will continue working alongside partners to reinforce surveillance, laboratory capacity, case management, infection prevention and control, WASH, health messaging and vaccination, supported by WHO logistics, to drive down mortality and reduce cholera transmission while ensuring minimal disruption to essential health and social services.
