Prevention and identification of cancer risk factors

Prevention aims to reduce the risk of developing a tumor, and that risk is based on the interaction between genetic and environmental factors.

While the former (age, sex, genetic heritage) can be evaluated to identify any predisposition factors, the latter (diet, smoking, alcohol, exercise) can be modified to reduce risks by favoring protective factors.

Thanks to the population screening provided by the National Prevention Plan (breast, colorectal, neck of uterus) it is possible to diagnose these tumors in the initial stages with a consequent reduction in mortality.
