ArchISS Multimedia Archive of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità

Archiss is a digital archive based on the open source xDams program, which uses as standard the F card adopted by the Central Institute for Catalog and Documentation (Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo e la Documentazione, ICCD) of the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities (Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali MIBAC) for the cataloguing of photographic material. The Archive traces the history of public health in Italy, through the activity carried out by the main Italian research body in the biomedical field: the Institute of Public Health founded in 1934 and became the Istituto Superiore di Sanità in 1941.
