Human Papilloma infections prevention. The european Joint Action partnERschip to contrast HPV (PERCH) and e-lerning for the health professionals

Papillomavirus (HPV) infection is the most common sexually transmitted infection (in both sexes). Vaccines against HPV have been available since 2006 and although they have been progressively introduced in many National Immunization Plan (NIP), coverages achieved are still sub-optimal both in Europe and globally. The Joint Action (JA) "PartnERship to Contrast HPV" (PERCH) (coordinated by the National Institute of Health in Italy, ISS) aims to increase HPV vaccination coverage in European member states in order to reduce cases of cervical cancer and other HPV-related cancers in the population. As part of the PERCH project, an e-learning training course has been promoted for healthcare professionals working in the HPV prevention and treatment fields also supporting difficult social situations. The ECM accredited course is accessible on the ISS EDUISS platform (https://www.eduiss.it).

IRIDA-ARIES, a key resource in Italy for One Health genomic surveillance of infectious diseases and its use for surveillance of foodborne diseases
Genomics of pathogenic microorganisms is transforming surveillance of infectious diseases, deepening our understanding of evolution and diffusion of etiological agents, host-pathogen interactions, and antimicrobial resistance. The National Institute of Health in Italy (ISS) has developed an Information System for the collection analysis and sharing of genomic data to support surveillance of infectious epidemics and foodborne outbreaks. The platform, IRIDA ARIES, is equipped with cluster detection algorithms and automatic alerts systems and provides a console to monitor the circulation of infectious agents at regional level and at the same time represents a real-time observatory of the dynamics of infectious diseases at national level. The IRIDA-ARIES platform hosts the Italian national surveillance system for Listeria monocytogenes and Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli infections.

The national system for the control and surveillance of Chemicals to protect public health: a PNRR project promoted by the National Center for Chemicals, Cosmetics and Consumer Protection of National Institute of Health in Italy
The Project “The national system for the control and surveillance of Chemicals to protect public health”, coordinated by AReSS Puglia and promoted by the National Center for Chemicals, Cosmetics and Consumer Protection (CNSC) of the National Institute of Health in Italy (ISS), is characterized by a detailed program of activities aiming at developing an interaction system between the surveillance network (Poison Centres-ISS) and the control network of Chemicals. To promote an innovative approach to Public Health and Safety, a digital platform will be developed, allowing: 1) an effective management of the information; 2) an interaction between surveillance and control systems; 3) an active exchange of requests and information with the Competent Authorities; 4) a greater citizen awareness of problems connected to Chemicals.
