Domestic and assisted violence: EpiWEAT and EpiCHILD electronic questionnaires for prospective studies
Domestic and assisted violence are a major public health problem, with lasting physical and psychological effects. As part of the CCM project “Violence against women: long-term effects on health for precision prevention”, funded by the Ministry of Health and coordinated by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (National Institute of Health in Italy), two digital tools were developed: EpiWEAT, aimed at women victims of violence, and EpiCHILD, intended for minors exposed to assisted violence. Both allow an integrated assessment of psycho-physical and social consequences, promoting a multidisciplinary approach and precision prevention protocols.

Disinfectants during pre/post COVID-19 pandemic period in Italy
The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic resulted in an increase of the demand for disinfectant products capable of effectively controlling the viral load. In response to the health emergency, experts at the National Centre for Chemicals (CNSC) of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (National Institute of Health, Italy) had to deal with a surge in the applications submitted by industry for the authorisation or the modification of new or existing Presidi Medico-Chirurgici (PMC), respectively. This study analyses the trend of the different types of requests for evaluation received by the CNSC from 2017 to 2022.

Application of risk analysis to drinking water safety and evaluation of the results: the operational tools defined in Legislative Decree no. 18 of 23 February 2023
The management of drinking water quality is a key priority for the protection of public health. Within the European regulatory framework, which is increasingly focused on prevention and proactive risk management, Legislative Decree No. 18 of 23 February 2023 - the Italian transposition of Directive (EU) 2020/2184 - represents a significant paradigm shift: from the traditional approach based on retrospective water quality monitoring to an integrated risk analysis model covering the entire drinking water supply chain. ISTISAN Reports 22/32, 22/33, and 25/4 provide a detailed methodological and operational framework for implementing the new standard. This article analyses these tools, highlighting their main objectives and content, and assesses their potential to ensure a sustainable approach to drinking water safety.
