The agenda of the final event of the Secov+ project is available

The final program for the final meeting of the Secov+ project is now available. It will be held on March 18-19 in Rome at the ISS. The event is organized to share the main results of the SeCoV+ project and ways to improve the genomic surveillance system for monitoring SARS-CoV-2 variants and other respiratory viruses. The event will be an opportunity for discussion with the entire network of laboratories involved in the sequencing activities and regional representatives, to assess the impact of this activity and the sustainability of the system.

The Project
The SeCOV+ Project (Enhancing Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS), national infrastructures and capacities for COVID-19 and surveillance of other respiratory viruses in Italy) responds to the need to strengthen technical and scientific expertise in the field of genomic surveillance, which emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic. The integration of whole genome sequencing (WGS) into surveillance systems is essential for monitoring viral variants of SARS-CoV-2 and other respiratory viruses. The final event aims to disseminate the project's results and support the training of professionals (physicians, biologists, laboratory technicians, epidemiologists, computer scientists) involved in the sequencing, analysis, and interpretation of genomic data.
