Back February 2024 – World Cancer Day

World Cancer Day, organized annually on February 4th, is the global uniting initiative promoted by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and supported by the World Health Organization (WHO).

This initiative serves as awareness about cancer, promoting early detection, prevention, understanding and treatment, and advocating for improved access to healthcare services for cancer patients.

It is a reminder of the ongoing international efforts to combat cancer in the world and reduce its impact on individuals and communities. The current slogan for the World Cancer Day campaign 2022-2024 is “Close the Care Gap”. Together, we challenge those in power.

Each year, multiple activities and events take place around the world on this day.
