Back May 2021 - World No Tobacco Day 2021

The World Health Organization (WHO) promotes the World No Tobacco Day 2021 in May, as usual, highlighting the health risks associated with tobacco consumption and supporting effective policies to try to reduce the consumption.
According to the WHO, which has recognized tobacco smoking as one of the most serious public health problems in the world, tobacco use is the second leading cause of death in the world.
For this occasion, on May 31, 2021, the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (National centre for addiction and doping) in collaboration with the "Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research” and the Italian Society of Tobaccology (SITAB), organizes the XXIII Conference in streaming mode. National Tobaccoism and National Health Service (Program).
This day, led by the worldwide slogan "Commit to quit" also represents an opportunity to disseminate the national data of the Report on smoking in Italy and to promote effective preventive interventions.
