Circular Economy

The CNSC is heavily involved in chemical evaluation activities and in identifying the most appropriate risk management measures for the substances of the greatest concern. In the context of circular economy, these activities, in addition to being important for the health of the population since they are aimed at promoting the recycling of non-hazardous materials, should be an important reference for recycling companies and to spread the safe use of recovered materials.

The CNSC supports the National Authority in order to achieve the strategic objectives of the End of Waste, expressing technical-scientific opinions regarding the end of waste according to Article 184 ter of the Italian Legislative Decree 152/2006 amended by Article 14 bis of the Law no. 128/2019 and the subsequent implications with the REACH Regulation. In particular, it expresses its technical-scientific opinion on the possible presence of SVHC substances present in in Annex XIV (Authorization) and in Annex XVII (Restriction) of the REACH Regulation.
