The conference represents the first national meeting on preparedness and action at points of entry (ports, airports, and ground crossings) organized by the National Institute of Health of Italy and the General Directorate for Health Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Italy. It represents an opportunity for exchanging views within the national community of those who deal from different standpoints with cross border safety issues. By way of two sessions - Cross-border prophylaxis and Strengthening cross-border safety - the conference aims to raise awareness and improve preparedness and response capacities on health risks prevention at points of entry. The conference is expected to contribute to cross-border health safety and to strengthen cooperation among all the interested parties.
