Dementias are a public health priority and the World Health Organization presented, in May 2017, the Global Dementia Plan. Italy has a National Dementia Plan (NPD) since 2014, renamed the Alzheimer Evaluation Units (Unità Valutative Alzheimer) as Centers for Cognitive Disorders and Dementias and underlined the need of organizing them taking into due consideration both integrated management and the definition of dedicated clinical pathways. The Congress aims at gathering and reporting prevention, clinical and research activities carried out by the structures that, within the Italian National Health System, are dedicate to the management of patients with dementia and their families.
