The Gambling Helpline (TVNGA) - 800 558822 is a telephone counseling service aimed at the entire population and in particular at people with problems related to gambling and at their families.

Active from Monday to Friday from 10.00 to 16.00 at the National cantre for Addiction and Doping of  the National Institute of Health It is a space dedicated to welcoming, listening and guiding users. The TVNGA offers clear and scientifically validated information, orientates towards local services that propose health interventions for the diagnosis and treatment of addiction, proposes social resources useful for developing collaborative relationships in the area and informs about the presence of services capable of managing problems economic and / or legal related to the practice of gambling.

In particular, those individuals, who have problems related to gambling, find in the service the support of expert psychologists who, in the context of a personalized counseling intervention, favor the identification of the needs brought by the user, the recognition and activation of personal resources and social to address the problematic situation, the activation of a path of change.

Thanks to this methodology the user is supported in the adoption of effective strategies to make adequate choices within a range of possibilities present on the national territory, such as care services (pertaining to the NHS and / or private social structures),  self-help groups and other resources to manage economic and / or legal issues. With the aim of responding in an increasingly attentive and timely manner to the needs of users, the service supports the network of resources on the national territory that deal with the disorder; through an annual census, the service verifies and updates all information relating to the personal data, organization and assistance offer of the social and health structures belonging to the network. The Service also produces and disseminates scientific and informative material and carries out and disseminates awareness and health promotion activities.
