Ensuring the implementation of healthcare policies able to eliminate Hepatitis C at both central and regional levels during the Covid-19 pandemic
Viral hepatitis C is an important public health problem and its elimination by 2030, defined by the World Health Organization, is an ambitious goal. The chance of free screening for HCV infection represents an important achievement that requires a successful State-Regions coordination and an effective regional organisation, that guarantees an interdisciplinary course between local and specialized healthcare. A structured communication program to increase the sensitivity of target populations as well as health professionals is the key for success. The implementation of the proactive screening, defined by the Milleproroghe Law, is crucial because it will define the tracks for the whole HCV cost-effective screening strategies (1948-1988 birth cohorts) required to achieve the HCV elimination targets in Italy by 2030.

The role of general practitioners in prevention and management of patients affected by dementia
Dementia is a chronic progressive syndrome affecting cognitive, functional and behavioural abilities. A multidisciplinary and multi-professional approach is required for the management of this condition, including the improvement of collaboration between general practitioners, specialized medical staff and health and social care professionals. The objectives of this project include promoting the prevention of dementia by focusing on lifestyles and risk factors using available diagnostic tools, management of people with psychological and behavioural disorders, adoption of therapeutic approaches, and communication with patients and their caregivers.

Recommendations from the European Project MEDIRAD: implication of medical exposure to low doses of radiation
MEDIRAD (Implications of Medical Low Dose Radiation Exposure) is a European project aimed at 3 main objectives: 1) improvement of estimation and recording of the dose to the organ to guide the clinical practice, optimization of the doses and provision of an adequate dosimetry for clinical-epidemiological studies of the effects of radiation in medical field; 2) better understanding of the effects of medical exposures, focusing on two main endpoints - effects of low doses of radiation on the cardiovascular system in breast cancer radiotherapy and long-term effects, concerning the increased risk of cancer after exposure, in paediatrics, at low doses of radiation from Computed Tomography; 3) development of evidence-based recommendations for effective radiation protection for patients and healthcare professionals.
