Back October 2021 - Webinar Health warnings labels of alcoholic beverages

7 october 2021: Webinar Health warnings labels of alcoholic beverages: opportunities for informed and healthier choices.
As part of the international webinar Less Alcohol Webinar Series, the National Alcohol Observatory, Collaborating Center of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, in collaboration with the WHO Department of Health Promotion and the Pan American Health Organization, continues the activity of training, information and dissemination by participating in the Webinar: Health warnings labels of alcoholic beverages: opportunities for informed and healthier choices.
The labelling of alcoholic beverages is a recommended World Health Organization: health warnings on alcoholic beverage labels increase consumers’ awareness of the risks associated with drinking, but their impact on reducing consumption or the change in individual behavior is not yet strong enough. Current labelling practices across countries are not standardised. The inconsistencies in displaying information, the scale of interventions, assessment methodologies, among other factors, have led to diversified practices and outcomes.
The webinar aims to take stock of recent evidence regarding the use of health warning labels and conditions for their effectiveness, illustrate innovative national initiatives and discuss the possible role of consumer associations and civil society in hod interested parties.
