Here are the main data provided by the Control Room:
- Nationwide, there was a decline in the weekly incidence of cases at national level: 559 every 100,000 inhabitants (29/04/2022 -05/05/2022) vs. 699 every 100,000 inhabitants (22/04/2022 -28/04/2022).
- In the period 13 – 26 April 2022, the average Rt calculated on symptomatic cases was 0.96 (range 0.85 – 1.07), substantially stable with respect to the previous week. The transmissibility index based on the number of hospitalized cases was below the epidemic threshold hence substantially stable with respect to the previous week: Rt = 0.91 (0.88-0.94) as at 26/04/2022 vs. Rt = 0.93 (0.90-0.96) as at 19/4/2022.
- The number of occupied beds in Intensive Care Units dropped to 3.7% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health as at 5 May) vs 3.8% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health as at 28 April). The number of occupied beds in other medical wards at national level dropped to 14.5% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health as at 05 May) vs. 15.6% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health as at 28 April)
- No Region/ Autonomous Province was classified as being at high risk. Three Regions/Autonomous Provinces were classified as being at moderate risk; the remaining Regions/Autonomous Provinces were classified as being at low risk according to the MD of 30 April 2020
- Nine Regions/Autonomous Provinces reported at least one resilience alert. One Region/Autonomous Province reported multiple resilience alerts.
- The percentage of cases detected through contact tracing remained unchanged (12% vs. 12% the previous week). Also the percentage of cases detected through the onset of symptoms remained virtually stable (42% vs. 40%), as did the percentage of cases diagnosed through screening activities (46% vs. 47%).
