The Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS, the National Institute of Health in Italy) scientifically supports prevention and emergency actions on water and health through an interdisciplinary and multisectoral approach to the nature and origin of water resources; as well as the impact on the availability and quality of water, environmental and anthropic, hygiene of processes and materials in contact with water, benefits and risks related to the integrated water cycle, use and reuse of water and human exposure through direct use and consumption, primary and food production, and bathing.
