The issue of dementia is assuming a relevance in term of public health and for dimension of the problem and for the impact for the health systems. The Alzheimer’s Disease Units are the specialistic centre in the National Health System involved in the management of patients affected by dementia. These structures in different regions are being reorganized and sometimes change of name. Physicians (neurologists, psychiatrists, geriatricians, general practitioner), psychologists, rehabilitationists and socio-health assistants are professionally involved in the management of patients affected by dementia. The aim of convention is that to supply a national picture on research activity and socio-health assistance from this specialistic clinical centre and to promote a integrated management of different competences.
