On April 19th 2011 the Department of Cell Biology and Neurosciences of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, in collaboration with the Istituto Nazionale di Economia Agraria, has organized the meeting “Social farming as opportunity for sustainable rural development: prospective of application in mental health”. Prospective of application and potentiality of Social Farming (SF) practices have been widely discussed at the meeting. More in detail, a great emphasis has been placed on the choice of the most appropriate research tools available to evaluate the effectiveness of the SF practices on the welfare and mental health which could be transferred to SF activities performed in Italy.
