December 2023 – Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day

This year the 2023 UHC Day Theme is "Health for All: Time for Action" to emphasize the need for immediate and tangible steps following the 2023 Political Declaration on UHC.
Observed annually in December, this Day serves as a global reminder of the essential need for a healthcare system that provides equitable and comprehensive health care.
It urges leaders to enact policies that guarantee equitable access to essential health services without financial hardship.
The collaborative effort of governments, the private sector, and civil society is crucial in holding leaders accountable and turning universal health coverage into a reality.
Countries in all Regions needs to make significant progress on the primary health services, that include reproductive, maternal, child health, infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases and service capacity and access.
It is an important opportunity to motivate action to tackle the health challenges of today and tomorrow.
