The authors of this report represents the international working group on childhood leukemia and electromagnetic fields appointed by the Italian Ministry of Health (10 April 2001). The results are presented in three chapters. The first deals with the current state of knowledge of risk factors for childhood leukemia, and the second provides a major review of the scientific literature on the relationship between electromagnetic fields and cancer. The third chapter presents data on the possible relationship between leukemia and residential exposure in population living near Vatican Radio transmitter facilities in Rome.
