The EUROCARE-4 database on cancer survival in Europe
Geographical coverage and participating registries
EUROCARE, the widest epidemiological study on survival of cancer patients in Europe, produces comparable outcome indicators on various cancer types by country in Europe.
The EUROCARE-4 study gathered data from 93 population-based Cancer Registries in 23 European countries.
The EUROCARE-4 database included survival information on more than 13,500,000 cancer cases diagnosed from 1978 to 2002 with vital status information available up to 31 December 2003 or later.
The collaborating population-based registries cover about 151,400,000 people representing 35% of the population of participating countries (Table1 ).
