The World Health Organization (WHO) every year reminds us of the importance of hand hygiene in healthcare and beyond on 5 May 2025 (the date symbolizes the five fingers of our two hands). This year’s theme “It might be gloves. It's always hand hygiene”, shows the importance of hand hygiene and encourage everyone to play an active role.
The WHO therefore calls on all citizens to implement infection monitoring and prevention (IPC) actions with the aim of strengthening safe practices, such as hand hygiene, through an effective health policy, timely training of health personnel, an adequate infrastructure network and constant monitoring.
