The Sea Care Project's activities will continue until 2028

In May 2025, the memorandum of understanding between the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (National Institute of Health) and the Italian Navy was officially renewed. This renewal ensures the continuation of the Sea Care Project's activities for another three years, guaranteeing the ongoing sampling and analysis of data related to marine water quality and the potential impacts of human-caused pollution on health.
The Navy will continue to provide logistical and operational support by making its naval units available to facilitate sampling and scientific research campaigns. This significant advancement demonstrates the joint commitment of the scientific community and military institutions to protecting the marine environment and confirms the Sea Care Project's status as a national and international pilot initiative for studying and safeguarding human health
