Long-term consequences of violence against women, towards precision prevention
Violence against women is a global, pervasive issue that extends beyond cultural boundaries, and that heavily affects the health of those who suffer it, even in the long term. Currently, research aimed at identifying the biological basis of the effects of violence and recent studies have highlighted the link between violence, psychiatric disorders and epigenetics.Through the EpiWE multidisciplinary study, data flows will be integrated with epigenetic research in order to identify innovative and/or interconnection strategies to ensure long-term care and implementation of innovative precision prevention protocols.
ImmunoMania: a playful educational kit on the immune system for school-age children
The value of the playful approach to learning is now universally recognized. In the wake of the favourable reception received during the last edition of the "European Night of Researchers" event, we present a playful-informative kit dedicated to the school age group (primary and lower secondary), with the aim of training youth in some concepts of immunology and stimulating trust in health sciences as well as interest in research among the new generations. The kit consists of several board games and gadgets inspired by the cells of the immune system. In addition, it features many humorous elements and is characterized by colorful and eye-catching graphics.
Population Health Information Research Infrastructure-PHIRI: the Italian contribution to the European project for COVID-19 exchange of population health information
The PHIRI project builds upon the successes of the previous BRIDGE Health and the Joint Action on Health Information (InfAct) projects to advance sharing and use of the health information for researchers and policymaking. Its primary goal is to enhance research activities across Europe by facilitating the identification, accessibility, evaluation, and utilization of both health and non-health data to develop evidence based public health policies. In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, it centralized efforts in generating comprehensive insights into the Covid-19's impact on population health, in particular on hospitalizations, breast cancer treatment, perinatal and mental health, to address future health emergencies.
