World Hepatitis Day takes place every year on 28th July to increase awareness about viral hepatitis, a liver inflammation that can result in serious disease and liver cancer.
The 2025 theme, Hepatitis: Let’s Break It Down, urges decisive action to remove financial, social obstacles that impede the elimination of this disease.
This theme underscores the importance of making hepatitis services, such as vaccination, and especially testing and treatment, more accessible and better integrated into national health systems.
The campaign is a call to action to expand access, coordinate care, and work together to end hepatitis as a public health threat by 2030.
