The National Reference Laboratory (NRL) collaborates with the EURL-FA (JRC, Geel - Belgium) participating in technical meetings, exchanging scientific information, participating in comparative testing in order to evaluate the analytical methods in use.
The NRL offers scientific and technical support to the national official laboratories responsible for the control of feed additives also organizing meetings; provides analytical standards not available on the market but stocked by the EURL-FA.
The NRL update the national Control Authority and the official laboratories about the news provided by the EURL-FA also through the website and the dedicated e-mail box.
The NRL organizes in cooperation with the C.Re.A.A. and the NRL for metals and nitrogen compounds in food, an annual Workshop.
The NRL provides scientific and technical support to the Competent Authority by drafting opinions for the resolution of specific problems; collaborating in the draw up of national control plans and in the technical-scientific updating.
