ACTIVITIES
EURACHEM-ITALY
Eurachem is a network of organisations in Europe, which share the objective of promoting metrological traceability, quality and good practices for analytical measurements. Currently 36 countries participate in the activities of Eurachem: the Member States of the European Union and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), the European Commission, the European countries that have signed an accession treaty with the EU and EFTA and other European countries admitted as associate members. In addition, Eurachem maintains collaborative relationships with other organizations interested in the quality of analytical measurements (CCQM, CITAC, CODEX CCMAS, CODEX IAM, EA, EA LC, EUChemS, EURAMET TC-MC, Eurolab, ILAC, ILAC AIC, ILAC LC, ISO REMCO, ISO TC69 SC6, IUPAC, JCTLM, NMKL).
Eurachem's approach to achieving these objectives is to constitute a forum for the discussion of common or emerging issues from which an overall, informed and considered vision of the technical issues relevant to the definition of common policies can be developed, focused on the aspects of quality in analytical measurements in Europe. An integral part of this approach is the convening of expert groups (Working Groups), often in collaboration with other organizations, to address specific issues, developing authoritative guidance documents and promoting discussion and comparison through the organization of international events (workshops and training courses). Eurachem's Guidelines and Information Sheets are available free of charge on the website. All documents can be translated, under the supervision of national delegates.
The National Institute of Metrological Research (INRiM) and the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, which, according to Law 273/1991, collaborate to promote the knowledge and application of metrology in analytical measurements in Italy, represent Italy in Eurachem, participate in the General Assembly and promote the participation of experts in working groups. In addition, at the local level, they promote the dissemination of information and documents relevant to the laboratories, participation in events organized by Eurachem, participation in the discussion of new documents, translation and dissemination of Guidelines, Supplements and Information Sheets, collaboration between national networks of laboratories.
Emanuela Gregori (ISS) and Francesca Rolle (INRiM) are the national delegates for Italy.
Marina Patriarca (ISS) held the position of President of Eurachem from 2018 to 2020 and Francesca Rolle (INRiM) was responsible for the Secretariat and Treasurer in the same period.
