Conference BEYOND THE SCREEN: Together for a Safer Web. Educatamente 2.0 – Promoting Digital Well-Being and Preventing Cyberbullying
The conference ‘“BEYOND THE SCREEN: Together for a Safer Web. Educatamente 2.0 – Promoting Digital Well-Being and Preventing Cyberbullying.” aims to address the challenges associated with the use of digital devices and the web during childhood, recognising the digital environment as a determinant of health.
In light of studies highlighting developmental risks arising from distorted or unregulated use of the internet, the event aims to promote digital health and prevent phenomena such as cyberbullying. The online environment can amplify strategies of moral disengagement and weaken fundamental prosocial skills, such as empathy and self-regulation.
The conference is part of the Educatamente 2.0 project, funded by the Ministry of Health (CCM 2024 programme) and implemented by ASL Roma 1 in collaboration with the Istituto Superiore di Sanità and La Sapienza University. Its main purpose is to raise awareness among health professionals, teachers, young people and citizens about the importance of conscious and responsible use of digital technology in order to prevent related psychopathologies and risky behaviour. The relevance of the initiative lies in its multidisciplinary approach and its desire to build synergies between institutions, schools and healthcare providers to protect the well-being of minors in the digital age.
