UFFICIO STAMPA
On December 2, 2025, the National Institute of Health will host the conference “ItOSS: a joint venture between researchers and clinicians to improve care during childbirth,” organized by the National Center for Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, accredited by ECM for doctors, psychologists, healthcare assistants, nurses, and midwives.
The event represents an important opportunity for researchers, clinicians, and decision-makers to share the results of surveillance and research activities coordinated by the Italian Obstetric Surveillance System (ItOSS) in collaboration with Regions and Health Services.
Updates will be presented on maternal mortality data in Italy, prospective studies on eclampsia, hysterectomy, and re-laparotomy after cesarean section, and contributions from international experts Catherine Deneux-Tharaux (INSERM, Paris) and Marian Knight (University of Oxford).
One session will be dedicated to promoting psychosocial health during pregnancy, with presentations on perinatal anxiety and depression, gender-based violence, and complex social factors, as well as the presentation of the new recommendations of the SNLG-ISS Guideline “Physiological Pregnancy.”
