Here are the main data provided by the Control Room:
●There was a nationwide drop in the weekly incidence of cases: 197 per 100,000 inhabitants (02/09/2022 - 08/09/2022) vs. 243 per 100,000 inhabitants (26/08/2022 - 01/09/2022).
●In the period 17 - 30 August 2022, the average Rt calculated on symptomatic cases was 0.92 (range 0.78 - 1.04), an increase compared to the previous week. The transmissibility index based on hospitalized cases was stable and below the epidemic threshold: Rt = 0.88 (0.84-0.92) vs. Rt = 0.85 (0.82-0.89) as at 23/08/2022.
●The number of beds occupied in Intensive Care Units dropped to 1.9% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health as at 08 September) from 2.1% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health as at 01 September). The number of occupied beds in other medical wards at national level dropped to 6.5% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health as at 08 September) from 7.7% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health as at 01 September).
●Three Regions were classified as being at moderate risk pursuant to the Ministerial Decree of 30 April 2020, the remaining 18 Regions/PPAAs were classified as being at low risk. Five Regions/PPAAs reported at least one resilience alert. One Region reported multiple resilience alerts.
●The percentage of cases detected through contact tracing remained stable compared to the previous week (12% vs. 12%). There was a rise in the percentage of cases detected through the onset of symptoms (51% vs. 48%), while there was a decrease in the percentage of cases diagnosed through screening activities (38% vs. 40%).
