Congress Venue
Crossing the threshold of the Italian National Institute of Health (ISS) means entering a place where history merges with scientific progress. Our historic headquarters in Viale Regina Elena is not only a center of research excellence but a unique cultural heritage site in the heart of Rome.
From the solemn Conference Halls, witnesses to discoveries that have changed the face of medicine, to the charming Winter Garden, every space tells a story of commitment and passion. The complex also houses the ISS Museum, a multisensory journey enriched by rare anatomical drawings by Canova and the innovations of the Nobel Prize winners who worked here. Surrounded by meticulously manicured green spaces that offer an oasis of urban tranquility, the Institute is the ideal stage for conferences and high-level training, where the beauty of the past inspires the challenges of the future.
ISS Museum
The Museum serves as a hub for disseminating scientific culture, aligned with the mission of the Italian National Institute of Health: "promoting and protecting national and international public health through research, surveillance, regulation, control, prevention, communication, consultancy, and training." It is organized into distinct sections that span the Institute's history from its origins to the present day, with a focus on future perspectives.
Headquarters
The facade of the Italian National Institute of Health (ISS) in Rome, located at Viale Regina Elena 299, is a significant example of 1930s Italian public architecture. The monumental entrance and rationalist lines welcome the scientific community every day into the heart of national public health.
Pocchiari Hall
Located within the Italian National Institute of Health (ISS) in Rome, the Pocchiari Hall is a central venue for scientific training and development in Italy. It hosts high-level conferences on public health, rare diseases, child health, and innovative technologies, welcoming experts, institutions, and associations.
The Winter Garden
As the historical botanical and scientific heart of the ISS, the Winter Garden has been recently renovated and restored to full operation. This intervention marks a decisive turning point: the rear of the hall, long used as suboptimal storage, has finally been enhanced, transforming a simple passage into a symbol of excellence and architectural regeneration.
